I was scrolling through and saw that you went to Alaska. I was born and raised there till I left 30 years ago. I can't believe that it has been that long. I lived 2 miles from the Mendenhall Glacier. My family homesteaded 48 acres right under the mountain that you would of driven by to the glacier. My siblings would walk up to the glacier to go to the observatory and eat chili. I miss Alaska so and now live in Kansas. No mountains, no ocean. There is peace on my farm though. Thank you for letting me see my home. I do miss it a lot!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you got to experience it. When I read how you saw the whales. When I was fishing one time with my grandparents a whale bumped our boat just to let us know that he was there. What memories I have tucked in my heart. Sorry for the ramble here. hehe
Blessings, Linda
Prairie Flower
maybe I will get your name : )Linda Stubbshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04426448231922088501noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2362676216827006103.post-2866380889166575372009-10-07T04:50:38.294-07:002009-10-07T04:50:38.294-07:00Hi Linda! And it looks like we have some similar tastes in books. I finished Ken Follett's book last winter -- it was fantastic company.
Mary Oliver was wonderful. I hope that you get to see her some time.Moe aka swampgirlhttp://www.swampgirl.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2362676216827006103.post-36553794818024364962009-10-05T19:27:25.374-07:002009-10-05T19:27:25.374-07:00i am so happy you got to go on such a beautiful cr...i am so happy you got to go on such a beautiful cruise. how gorgeous! love, love the photos.
and happy birthdays, all around. way to celebrate!
xoxo
ps: thank you for the sweetest of comments. happy tears. : )christinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15541888793748453425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2362676216827006103.post-54738851800575110862009-10-04T16:42:42.279-07:002009-10-04T16:42:42.279-07:00Sounds like a fun trip.. My husband and I are cruise-a-holics and Alaska was our first. Sounds like you got to see much more wildlife than us but much more rain. We too will be off so don't forget me.Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08535613151538197041noreply@blogger.com
