4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:4-7

Summer project
This summer, my sister, a couple friends, and I have been having a weekly bible study. We have also decided to incorporate a summer project. My friend, Sarah, and I went to QuiltCon in February, and found a pattern called "Sweet Tea and Green Beans". We have decided as a group to make this quilt, each in our own colorways. I am not following the pattern exactly. I've picked a few different blocks, and have added broderie perse applique, and wool applique rather than strictly cotton fabric. I found that rainbow ric rac at the NQA show in Columbus. After it's put together, the plan is to do some very simple straight line machine quilting. Then as an added touch, I'm going to add some hand quilting with perle cotton. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

It was a good day.
April 19, 2013
It was a good day.
It started off rainy and cold, but the rain subsided by noon. The ceremony was to start at 5:30.
The barn was busy with activity. Setting the tables with the mismatched china, hanging pompoms, and the quilt, setting out the pastry..............
The photographer took pics of the guys while the girls got ready......
It was a good day.

There were tears, but they were happy.
i carry your heart, i carry it in my heart......
i am never without it....It was a good day.

O Christmas Tree!!!
So, yesterday we went on our annual Christmas tree hunt. As gloomy as it looks, it was actually pretty nice. We have gone tree hunting in snow storms, rain, freezing rain, mud, you name it, we've done it. We weren't having much luck.
Either the tree was too fat,
too thin,
too crooked,
or, too tall! Actually, way too tall!!
We must have walked for 45 minutes before we found it. A beautiful blue spruce. It seems lots of the trees looked good on the outside, but the insides were pretty much dead. This one had no bare spots anywhere. It was perfect. The trunk didn't even need to be trimmed down to make sure it was straight.
Juice made the first cut...
....and the lumberjacks carried it to the truck....
......to be continued.
